What is Mango Bay Turbo Dial?
Mango Bay Turbo Dial speeds up your Internet experience, by up to
five times, using your existing dialup phone line and modem. You do not
require any extra equipment. Mango Bay Turbo Dial allows you to surf at
near DSL speed, making Mango Bay Turbo Dial the high-speed Internet
solution with the convenience of dial-up. It is easy to install, runs

What gets accelerated?
Mango Bay Turbo Dial compresses the following elements of web pages
in order to send the information to your computer faster:
- Web pages - HTML markup and JavaScript
- Graphics including JPEG and GIF images
- Text
- E-mail on the Web
What will not be accelerated?
Although Mango Bay Turbo Dial is able to compress many different
types of online data, there are a few which cannot be accelerated:
- Streaming media, audio and video files
- Secure pages, such as those used for online banking and credit
card forms
- Files and attachments such as music or digital photos.
How does it work?
With traditional dialup methods, the text and graphics that make up
Web pages get sent from the server to you over your phone line. Because
of the large amount of data required to be sent, this process can be
painfully slow. Mango Bay Turbo Dial compresses this data using a
proprietary technology, and sends it over your existing dialup phone
line. This compression process allows a smaller amount data to be sent –
up to six times less – making the download time of your web pages and
your online experience that much faster. As an added download time
reducer, Mango Bay Turbo Dial stores elements of the Web sites you visit
frequently so you do not have to re-download them every time you visit
these sites.

Viruses and Worms: Are You Protected?
1. Always make sure you have the latest Virus
Definitions.
Your Anti-Virus software that is installed on your computer is
only as good as the virus definitions. This means that if
you do not have the latest version of the anti-virus software,
your system is not protected against new viruses.

2. Use a multi-layer Anti-Virus Approach.
We suggest that you purchase Anti-Virus software
for your computer AND subscribe to our Anti-Virus/Anti-Spam
service. By having 2 layers of protection, you will have 2
layers of defense. Our system filters your email using
software by MacAfee.

3. Make sure your Windows operating System is up to
date.
By auto-enabling Windows update, your system
will have the latest security patches from Microsoft. We
suggest that you enable auto-update or check for Windows updates
often.

4. Don't open attachments that you are not expecting.
Simply stated, don't open executable files or
email attachments that you are not expecting to receive.

5. Don't reply to spam.
Many unsolicited emails contain text that states
you have requested the information and/or are on their mailing
list. They often contain a link to unsubscribe.
However, unless you specifically know that this organization is
legitimate, clicking that link to the unsubscribe request will
validate your email address and cause additional unsolicited email
to arrive. This increases the risk of viruses being
transmitted. Companies that contain their address and method
of contact (such as Mango Bay Internet) may actually be following
the laws regarding unsolicited email and any removal requests will
be honored.

6. Adjust your Security settings in Internet
Explorer.
The latest versions of Microsoft Internet
Explorer have security settings that you can adjust. The
higher settings mean better security..

7. Enable your TCP/IP filters in Windows XP.
Windows XP contains TCIP/IP filters that can
block incoming ports of your computer. This acts as a
firewall and protects your system. It has been said that the
proliferation of the last worm could have been avoided had users
enabled their tcp/ip filters.

8. Use a firewall.
Firewalls are software programs or hardware
devices that keep unwanted traffic from reaching your pc or
network. If a worm or virus targets a specific port, your firewall
can be adjusted to block this traffic.

9. Stay Alert and report suspicious activity.
If you notice bizarre things happening with your
email or the Internet in general, call us. We usually know

V.92 is the new dial-up modem specification from the International
Telecommunications Union (ITU) that introduces new features providing
convenience and performance for the modem user. Take advantage of
these new features using your V.92 compatible modem.
V.92 Features
Modem on Hold
Modem on Hold "suspends" your online session for incoming calls and
returns to your online activities after your conversations without
redialing. Please note that Call Waiting service from your telephone
company is required.
Quick Connect
Quick Connect "remembers" line conditions from the previous session,
bypasses portions of the training sequence, and gets you online faster.
Reduce your dial-up connection time as much as 50%
V.PCM
This enhancement makes the online experience faster and better for those
who send information instead of just Web surfing. If you're a gamer,
you'll be able to send your commands at greater speed than your
opponents who have outdated modems! V.PCM Upstream reaches upstream
speeds up to 48 Kbps and lets you choose either the fastest downstream
speed (up to 53 Kbps) or a "balanced" connection of downstream and
upstream communication. PCM Upstream boosts
the upstream data rates between the user and Mango Bay to reduce upload
times for large files and email attachments. A maximum of 48 Kbps
upstream rates is supported. PCM Upstream will work particularly well
with new equipment such as Internet-connected digital cameras, which
primarily upload rather than download information.
Mango Bay Internet now offers access numbers that are V.92
compatible. Please check the list of access numbers to determine
which number to use. You can also download our new dialup
connection utility which will allow you to select numbers that are V.92
compatible. Please note that in order to take advantage of V.92,
you must have a V.92 compatible modem and dial a Mango Bay Internet V.92
